From the Assistant Acquisitions Editor, Listening Library, an imprint of Penguin Random House Audio:
I’m happy to be sharing some wonderful news, following the recent announcements at ALA Midwinter. ACID was named a YALSA Amazing Audiobook. This fabulous recognition means the audiobook will be recommended to a wide audience of both children and teens. And in further kudos, ACID was a YALSA Amazing Audiobooks “Top Ten” selection, out of a total of 29 titles. Terrific! In the words of the YALSA committee: “The brutal police state ACID rules all, so when Jenna is broken out of prison by a rebel group she has to fight to survive as ACID’s most-wanted fugitive. Unique ACID reports and recordings read by Smith and Hardingham’s excellent pace combine with her authentic teen voice to highlight this exciting story.” You can read more about the YALSA Amazing Audiobooks list here: http://www.ala.org/news/press-releases/2015/02/yalsa-names-2015-amazing-audiobooks-young-adults and see the full list of Listening Library’s ALA Award Winners here: http://www.booksontape.com/listening-library-2015-ala-award-winners/.
We’re delighted that the ACID audiobook has received such prominent recognition. We promote our award winners in a number of ways so you may see ads featuring ACID in AudioFile, Booklist, Horn Book, School Library Journal, and VOYA. Plus, we will be displaying copies of this audio and handing out flyers featuring it in our booth at all of our School and Library Conferences for 2014.
Congratulations to Emma, Fiona, Nicholas, Suzan, and everyone involved!
